This Old House Auburndale 2010
This Old House chose this house to be its Boston area project of 2010, completed in December 2010. A 1940 house with little charm and a big shoebox of a garage, the house had dark wood paneling throughout the first floor and little view of the beautiful woods and the Charles River. By adding only 230 square feet, this “ho-hum” house was transformed into a light-filled, open and spacious house while being very efficient with the existing square footage. To add more curb appeal and create a more gracious entry experience, a pergola connecting the driveway to a new entry hall created a courtyard garden in the front.
